A highly practical course with relevant theoretical background enabling students to achieve a basic understanding of ultrasonic inspection. On completion of the course candidates will be able to calibrate a flaw detector with both compression and shear wave probes, record accurate thickness measurements and locate and size lamination in steel plate. In addition, students will be able to select the correct compression/shear wave probes for the examination of welded butt joints, locate and size defects and finally produce acceptable reports

Course Duration -Depending on own requirement
Ideal for those who already have a basic understanding of the techniques of radiographic testing and would like intensive instruction to improve their knowledge and increase their experience in preparation for a recertification examination. This course is suitable for refresher training towards both the PCN and employer based recertification examinations.
Special Note
Previous certification in a Level 1 or Level 2 method is required. This course should not be viewed as a substitute to the standard training courses but is an ideal supplementary course.
