PCN Verification and Examinations
SNT-TC-1A Examinations
PCN Verification and Examinations:
The PCN (Personnel Certification in Non-Destructive Testing) is an internationally recognized certification scheme for NDT technicians and supervisors, meeting BS EN ISO 9712 standards. We offer supplementary exams for experienced professionals, including retakes (Theory and Practice) and recertification. Additionally, refresher training is available in flexible half or full-day sessions.
Levels of qualification:
– Level 1: Conduct NDT operations under supervision, including equipment setup and result recording.
– Level 2: Perform and oversee NDT procedures, interpret results, and ensure compliance with standards.
– Level 3: Manage NDT operations, develop procedures, and interpret codes and specifications.

SNT-TC-1A Examinations:
Examination content is dictated by an employer’s written practice, necessary for certifying NDT personnel under the SNT-TC-1A scheme. This guideline assists employers in creating their own practices for NDT personnel qualification.
Access to written practices is available through our Level 3 Services Manager. Self-employed individuals may establish their own practices but may need re-examination elsewhere.
A written practice serves as a framework for controlling and administering NDT personnel, including training prerequisites, relevant methods, examination criteria, and pass marks. Employers are responsible for ensuring the efficacy of their qualification system
