A highly practical course with relevant theoretical background enabling students to achieve a basic understanding of ultrasonic inspection. On completion of the course candidates will be able to calibrate a flaw detector with both compression and shear wave probes, record accurate thickness measurements and locate and size lamination in steel plate. In addition, students will be able to select the correct compression/shear wave probes for the examination of welded butt joints, locate and size defects and finally produce acceptable reports

This comprehensive course aims to provide participants with classroom training and examination, leading to a Level II qualification in Digital Radiography (DR) that complies with the requirements of ASNT SNT-TC-1A based employer’s written practice. A valid Level II certificate holder will be formally eligible to conduct digital radiography examinations on relevant test jobs, follow applicable NDT written procedures, and generate accurate test reports.

It has been agreed by PDTC (ICorr) to add an experience assessment to all ICorr certifications for personnel engaged in painting and coating inspection. Full details of the changes can be provided on request.
